Texas Tribune Festival Adds Newsom, Clinton, Cruz to 2022 Lineup

Sure, it sounds like a setup in search of a punchline, but in fact it’s a tease of the more than 200 new speakers added to the lineup of the Texas Tribune Festival, and a taste of the impressive breadth of the programming. Some highlights from today’s announcement:
• California Gov. Gavin Newsom in conversation with MSNBC anchor Alex Wagner• Former United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in conversation with journalist and podcast host Kara Swisher
• The 19th Editor-At-Large Errin Haines interviewing Pulitzer Prize-winning Harvard Law School professor Annette Gordon-Reed
• A panel discussion titled “The New World Disorder” with former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison, former Governor of New Mexico and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Bill Richardson, and U.S. Representative, Michael McCaul, R-Austin, moderated by Will Inboden, Executive Director of the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin
An annual gathering of heavy hitters in politics and public policy curated by The Texas Tribune, the Austin-based gold standard of nonprofit journalism, TribFest is also touting Pulitzer Prize winning New York Times reporter Katie Benner and New York City Mayor Eric Adams as new adds. They join previously announced speakers Beto O’Rourke, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, outgoing Austin mayor Steve Adler, and legendary journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, among others.
