A San Antonio native and graduate of the University of Texas, Rachel Rascoe writes about music and culture. She inherited The Austin Chronicle’s longtime music news column in 2019. Named after a Janis Joplin song, “Faster Than Sound” covers all things local music in the so-called Live Music Capital. She has been a staff writer at the Chronicle since 2021.
