Along with the winners of the March joint primaries – and the July 14 run-offs – the November election includes races for City Council – D2, D4, D6, D7, and D10 – and Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees – D2, D3, D5, and At-Large Position 8.
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 7am-7pm
Ballot By Mail
To check the status of your ballot application, visit www.votetravis.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, and choose the "BBM Status" button.
Deadline to turn in your completed ballot: Nov. 3, postmarked; Nov. 4, received
Due to Gov. Abbott's order limiting ballot drop-off sites, the only location in Travis County open for hand delivery of mail-in ballots is the clerk's office at 5501 Airport Blvd. This location is open on Election Day, Tue., Nov. 3, 7am-7pm.
If you wish to mail in your ballot, mail it to:
Dana DeBeauvoir
Travis County Clerk – Elections Division
PO Box 149325
Austin, TX 78714-9325
If you applied for a ballot but have decided to vote in person instead, here are the steps you’ll need to take to vote: If you already received a ballot, you may bring it to a polling location to surrender it to a voting clerk. There, you'll sign a form requesting cancellation of the ballot by mail and then vote normally at the polls. If you don't bring the mail ballot, you'll have to sign an affidavit saying you didn't mark and mail in the ballot; you'll then vote provisionally.
Expanding vote-by-mail due to COVID-19 precautions is expanding in Texas; we’ll continue to monitor this situation for updates.
Still not sure who you're voting for? You can check out our endorsements for a rundown of who we like on the local ballot. A streamlined list of our endorsements on one easy-to-print page is available here. You can find detailed voting info and in-depth looks at all of the candidates on the Voters Guide lovingly compiled by the Austin area League of Women Voters.
