Q&A Hole: Unwilling Alien Espionage

Billie Buck: “Teleport me to the cheese factory”

Kevin Curtin's disastrous handwriting on full display

It’s an essential life question we’ve all contemplated: “If aliens abducted you and installed an implant that gave you the power to teleport, but it also allowed them to monitor all your thoughts and experiences — essentially making you a spy for them — what would you do upon your return to Earth?”

On the debut episode of Q&A Hole, I pose this query to five unsuspecting artists from Austin’s music scene: Billie Buck of independently wealthy garage punks Sailor Poon, Tom Frank from internationally acclaimed doom outfit Duel, Zeale and Phranchyze of rap twosome Blackillac, Think No Think singer/guitarist John Dowey, and the namesake leader of prog-psych acid orchestra Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band. How did they respond? Find out below.

Q&A Hole is edited by John Anderson, produced by Tamar Price, and thought up by myself, music and cannabis reporter Kevin Curtin. Jana Birchum records the audio, and the theme song is by Kevin Curtin, Jonas Wilson, and Timothy Abdnour.
