Seth Meyers and Devon Walker Bringing the Funny to Moontower

Late Night host and SNL star join the 2023 comedy fest lineup

Late night TV is taking over the 2023 Moontower Just For Laughs Austin (April 12-23) with the city's latest addition to the Saturday Night Live crew, Devon Walker, and the Emmy-winning host of Late Night With Seth Meyers (checks notes) Seth Meyers joining The Daily Show's Trevor Noah as part of next year's roster of laughter-makers.

A former fixture on the Austin comedy scene and Moontower veteran before he departed for NYC, Walker will appear with all of this year's SNL freshman (Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, and Michael Longfellow).

As for Noah, he had already announced a four-night stand at the Bass Concert Hall as part of his Off the Record 2023 Live! tour, with a special block of premium tickets being held for Moontower badge holders. Now Meyers joins the list as a headliner at the Paramount, but the three heavy hitters of late night are not the only names for this second - or eleventh - festival.

Wait, second or eleventh? Moontower was launched by the Paramount Theatre in 2012 as the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival, and its reputation grew internationally so much that last year it teamed up with Canadian comedy powerhouse Just For Laughs and rebranded as Moontower Just For Laughs Austin.

So for this second outing under that new nomenclature they're bringing back some familiar names to the fest like Maria Bamford and Chris Distefano as headliners at the Stateside, while Bollywood star turned standup sensation Vir Das will be treading the same boards as Meyers at the Paramount.

Moontower also continues its commitment to bringing Spanish-speaking comedians to Austin stages with two nights of headlining performances at the Stateside from Carlos Ballarta.

The festival has also announced new badges for sale, with Club Badges getting you into every club show, plus access to parties and lounges during closing weekend (April 19-23), and early access for tickets for headliners: or there are upgrades to Club Plus and Club Premium for pre-sales and skip-the-line options.

Moontower Just For Laughs Austin runs April 12-23, 2023. Tickets, passes, and info at austintheatre.org/moontower-comedy. Now here's all of today's talent announcement: expect more standups, sketch comedy experts, and podcasts in the months to come.
