Texas’ oldest continuously operating dance hall since 1878, you may not witness as many badger fights and high school graduations here as once upon a time, but you will see the exact same structure and layout as the day it was built, with the same open-air dancing, the same bar out front, the same beer garden in back, and advertising signage that’s been decorating the place since the Thirties and Forties. With such atmospherics comes a booking policy encompassing legends Jerry Lee Lewis and Merle Haggard, down to Bob Schneider and Shakey Graves.
